Meet the Core bit to drill in Concrete, Stone, Bricks

Drilling is now no more limited to industrial purposes. People have brought them at home also to add them in their home arsenal. Now, people believe to complete a few tasks themselves instead of calling some professional. Well, this made people aware about such machine tools and now people do full research before buying any of the machinery for their DIY project. Drilling is also one of the essential needs for any home whenever the need arises to bore holes in doors and walls, attach fixture in walls, and make a tree house or cabinet for your garden.

To complete all such drilling requirements easily with very less effort, you should have enough knowledge about the bits which are used for this purpose. The market has varieties of drill bits in several sizes and several materials. You just need to classify them all as per your requirement. Let’s begin with the core bit, which you should add in your tool box as it is capable enough in boring holes in concrete, bricks, and metals. However, they are widely used in the mining industry for coring through several thousands of feet.

You will hear often about the masonry and you might have this bit in your tool box for attaching a fixture in your concrete wall. But what if you are expecting some more sharpness and stiffness to get through the wall? This is the place where you feel the need of a core drill.  Well, this is the bit which is widely divided in two categories, according to the hardness of the material, which will be drilled by the bit.

They are of generally of two types – dry and wet bits. If the need is for boring holes in bricks and blocks, then the dry bit is the best pick. This has diamond cutters which are fragmented for cooling the bit through the air. Thus, you can also call it air-cooled bit also. Using them, you can finish your coring jobs efficiently and, if you have a hard brick as an object, then segments of diamond cutters has been increased in the dry bit.

On the other side, wet core drill bits are made for drilling holes in cured concrete, stone surfaces, and other hard materials. These are interchangeably called as water-cooled bits. These bits also have cuttings which are made from quality diamonds and have much better coring value than wet bits.
